Advanced Driving
Advanced Driving

So how do you define an advanced driver:
An advanced driver is some one who is always at the right speed and in the correct gear for any situation.
An advanced driver is pro-active not reactive, they deal with hazards early and smoothly.
Come and test your advanced driving skills. At the end of the course you can take the highly accredited ROSPA advanced driving test.
Once you pass you will be invited to join the ROSPA's Advanced Drivers Association.

The aim of this course is train drivers to a higher standard, which in turn will
result in safer drivers. For some drivers it may mean showing them how to
use speed correctly and at appropriate times, for others it may mean building confidence in their driving and knowing how their vehicle reacts and how to
control it. Other benefits to being an advanced driver is that you will spot
hazards earlier; and be able to deal with them earlier and smoother which
in turn will give you greater fuel efficiency, cheaper insurance and lower
maintenance costs.

You will be trained in the following areas:
1) The police system of car control.
2) Anticipation & planning.
3) Observation Techniques.
4) Correct positioning.
5) Defensive Driving techniques.
6) All weather driving.
7) Effective gear selection.
8) Overtaking safely and smoothly.
9) Commentary driving.
10) Fuel efficiency.
11) How to correctly assess the correct speed to negotiate bends.
